Designed for a self-driving safari, where you have the freedom of the open road combined with the luxury and comfort of a fully serviced camping experience. Unfold Africa Travel Safaris meets you in Maun and leads you through Moremi Game Reserve and the Khwai Concession. A dedicated team, including a private chef and housekeepers, handles all camp logistics so you can fully immerse yourself in the safari.

Itinerary

Day by day

  1. Day 1

    Maun to Moremi Game Reserve (Third Bridge)

    Meet your Unfold Africa representative in Maun for a comprehensive briefing and receive a two-way radio to communicate with your guide.

    • ·Transfer: Follow your guide's vehicle from Maun into Moremi Game Reserve, through mopane woodlands and open floodplains.
    • ·Arrival: At Third Bridge campsite, park your vehicle and be welcomed into your private camp with en-suite facilities already set up.
    • ·Afternoon: Relaxing lunch and downtime, followed by a late afternoon game drive in Unfold Africa's open-sided vehicle.
    • ·Evening: Three-course dinner by your private chef around the campfire.

  2. Day 2

    Full Day in Moremi Game Reserve

    Sunrise game drive in prime predator country: lions, leopards, impala, zebra, giraffe and wildebeest.

    • ·Mid-day: Hearty brunch back at camp; siesta through the heat.
    • ·Afternoon: Second game drive exploring new areas. Watch for endangered African wild dogs.
    • ·Evening: Sundowners in the bush and dinner under the stars.

  3. Day 3

    Moremi Game Reserve Exploration

    Another early start to track game in a new area, with large herds of elephant and buffalo moving to water.

    • ·Mid-day: Brunch at camp.
    • ·Afternoon: Leisurely afternoon followed by a late game drive. Exceptional birding with over 550 species recorded in Moremi.
    • ·Evening: Drinks and a sumptuous dinner.

  4. Day 4

    Final Game Drive in Moremi

    Final early morning game drive with beautiful light and one last chance at wish-list sightings.

    • ·Mid-day: Farewell brunch in Moremi.
    • ·Afternoon: Relax in the serene surroundings of camp.
    • ·Evening: Final Third Bridge dinner sharing stories of your time in Moremi.

  5. Day 5

    Moremi to Khwai Tented Camp

    After breakfast, pack up and follow your guide on the scenic drive from Moremi to the Khwai Concession with game viewing along the way.

    • ·Arrival: At your private Khwai campsite on the riverfront.
    • ·Afternoon: Lunch, then a game drive. The Khwai River is a magnet for lechwe, zebra, impala and the predators that follow them.
    • ·Evening: Dinner by your chef and a relaxed evening around the fire.

  6. Day 6

    Khwai Concession Exploration

    Morning game drive along the Khwai River, with frequent wild dog and leopard sightings in the riverine forests and floodplains.

    • ·Mid-day: Brunch at camp.
    • ·Afternoon: Evening game drive. Khwai allows night drives (not permitted in Moremi), opening up nocturnal sightings.
    • ·Evening: Sundowner over the Khwai floodplains and dinner.

  7. Day 7

    Full Day in Khwai

    Another full day of game viewing across the Khwai Concession, ideal for birding and photography.

    • ·Mid-day: Brunch at camp.
    • ·Afternoon: Final evening game drive in this incredible wilderness.
    • ·Evening: Farewell dinner with your guide and team.

  8. Day 8

    Departure from Khwai to Maun

    Final bush breakfast, then pack up and follow your guide on the scenic drive back to Maun with last wildlife sightings along the way.
